Middle ScHool Math (MS math)
Welcome to the world of numbers. In MS Math each student will begin with exploring integers and progress to understanding various number sets within the set of Reals. We will build on their sense of numbers through operations on numbers such as exponents, distribution, and factorization and applications of numbers such as ratios, scale, and percentages. After time well spent on the number line, we will voyage into two dimensions with the Cartesian plane and geometry.
Pre-Algebra
With a solid MS Math completed, we enter the world were numbers and letters work together. Each student will expand on his or her knowledge of operations and applications. First solving one- step equations and progressing to two-step. We will work with both equalities and inequalities. Each student will progress from plotting points to graphing linear equations. The course will wrap up with a unit on probability.
